This sign is a fake! It is reportedly being sold on the internet for as high as $150.00. There were never any signs of this type made by or for the Southern Pacific. These particular signs were made in Southern Florida and sold out of a van throughout the United States to antique dealers who thought they were getting a deal. The antique dealers typically paid about $25.00 a piece for these fakes. These signs have been the subject of several websites and even made the "Antique Trader". The folks selling the signs have been arrested at least once. It now appears they are selling a new bunch of signs.
